Director Eric Newman is re-teaming with his ‘Last Exorcism’ producer Eli Roth and financier Studio Canal to make the suspense film ‘Psycho Killer’. The team found success with its low-budget horror movie last summer, and hopes to recapture that same victory with their new film.

‘Psycho Killer’ will follow a highway patrolwoman who seeks revenge on the serial killer who murdered her husband. The first quarter of the movie will follow just the serial killer before the patrolwoman begins chasing him. The script will be written by Andrew Kevin Walker, who also wrote the Brad Pitt hit ‘Seven.’

Newman is still looking to cast the female lead. He wants to hire someone audiences will recognize, but isn’t a big star. The media is hinting that Ashley Bell, who starred as the possessed girl in ‘The Last Exorcism,’ is being considered, as she helped make that film a success.
