‘Couples Retreat’ actress Malin Akerman has replaced Lindsay Lohan in the upcoming Linda Lovelace biopic ‘Inferno’. The casting comes after the recent news that the film’s producers had fired the ‘Mean Girls’ actress. They cited her current stay at the Betty Ford Center as a liability, further saying she is “uninsurable.”
While Akerman is eight years older than Lohan, the movie is still expected to follow Lovelace’s autobiography, Ordeal: An Autobiography, and cover a long period of her life. To cover up the age difference, it has also been reported that the movie’s cosmetic department will just use extra make-up to make Akerman look younger when needed.
Akerman is believed to have been chosen to star in ‘Inferno’ because Ordeal features numerous sex and nudity scenes. While Lohan used a body double for her skinny dipping scene in her most recent movie, ‘Machete,’ Akerman appeared nude several times in ‘Watchmen.’
There is no word yet on when ‘Inferno’ will begin filming, now that Akerman is on board. When Lohan was involved, shooting was scheduled to begin filming in January.
