Academy Award-winning actress Mira Sorvino is once again trying to break away from her role of Romy in the hit 1997 movie ‘Romy And Michele’s High School Reunion’ by agreeing to star in the new film ‘Union Square’. The movie is being helmed by indie director Nancy Savoca, who rose to fame with her hit HBO movie ‘If These Walls Could Talk.’

Sorvino will star alongside Emmy winner Tammy Blanchard. The two will play two sisters who reluctantly reunite as one prepares to get married, and the other is on the brink of having a nervous breakdown. There’s no word yet when ‘Union Square’ will begin filming, or what kind of budget it will have. However, the independent film is expected to have a small theatrical release, and will be available OnDemand the same day it hits theaters.
