Warner Bros. and New Line are scrapping the planned adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan’s comic book ‘Y: The Last Man,’ at least for the time being. Louis Leterrier, who directed such movies as ‘The Incredible Hulk’ and ‘Clash of the Titans,’ was at one time attached to bring the comic to the big screen. On the morning of Saturday, December 11, the award-winning feature film The Red Machine will be screened by the Desert Film Society at the Camelot Theatres in Palm Springs (2300 E. Baristo Road, Palm Springs, CA 92262). ‘Eclipse’ star Bronson Pelletier allegedly had his nose broken by four drunken men at a recent ‘Twilight’ convention in Birmingham, England, Popeater.com is reporting. The Canadian actor, who portrays the werewolf Jared in the series, was attacked in the men’s room. His assailants were attending a wedding in the same Hilton hotel where the convention was being held. Pelletier said the men repeatedly struck and headbutted him, and he was unable to escape. Police subsequently chased the suspects, and arrested all four on suspicion of assault. Two were later released, and the other two were granted bail. The police are currently investigating the case, but a motive hasn’t yet been…

The film, which was written by Steve Leff, follows two slackers who don’t help an old woman with her groceries.
