While Demi Lovato is recovering in rehab for her emotional and physical issues, the Disney star may be sued by one of her backup dancers, Alex Welch, for assault, RadarOnline.com is reporting. Welch reportedly sought emergency medical care after her fight with the ‘Sonny With a Chance’ star. She even visited a plastic surgeon for treatment options for the injuries she sustained from Lovato.

PEOPLE first reported that Lovato entered rehab early last month after she had a fight with one of her dancers while they were on tour. The reports continued when Welch’s lawyer, Donald Karpel, told RadarOnline that “We will be  filing a lawsuit…We will be seeking punitive damages for assault, batter and for mental stress.”

Welch told PEOPLE that Lovato gave her a black eye and bruises. She also said that she still hasn’t received an apology from the singer, and added “that’s sad if you think that person is your friend.”
