Diane Kruger has taken over French actress Eva Green’s role of Marie Antoinette in the upcoming film adaptation of the Chantal Thomas novel Farewell, My Queen, Cinemablend.com is reporting. The movie, which is set to be directed by Benoit Jacquot and will also star Gerard Depardieu, Virginie Ledoyen and Lea Seydoux, will focus on the last days of the French Revolution. The film is expected to begin shooting in the spring. ‘Farewell, My Queen’ was supposed to be Green’s grand return to the film world after she won a BAFTA award for 2006′s ‘Casino Royale,’ in which she played Bond girl Vesper Lynd. Mark Wahlberg is claiming that he’s reuniting with his ‘Fighter’ director David O. Russell for the movie adaptation of the video game Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Slashfilm.com is reporting. While fans of the video game are protesting O. Russell’s attachment to the film, and are calling for Nathan Fillion to appear in the film instead of Wahlberg, the director is still going ahead with the project. O. Russell, who has said he’s halfway through writing a draft of the script, also commented that he’s interested in hiring Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci to portray Drake’s father and uncle, respectively. Tragedy and despair fill the lens in just about every scene. Attempts of showing compassion between characters is as coarse as sandpaper. Even the atmosphere is cold and callous. However, if one is able to process and handle all of the dark emotions, they will be able to appreciate the beauty in the storytelling along with the steady performance of Javier Bardem….
