‘Big Love’ star Ginnifer Goodwin is shocked by the uproar over her admission last month that she’s been on Weight Watchers since she was nine-years-old, People.com is reporting. The actress, who is now 32 and is still a member of the program’s online support group, is insisting that she’s never been on an actual diet.
Goodwin added that she’s never had body issues or an eating disorder, and “that’s because of Weight Watchers.” She reaffirmed that she was overweight as a child, and sought help because she began to identify herself as fat. She added that her family doctor pointed her to the children’s program at Weight Watchers, where she “went to weekly meetings, got counseling and would exercise with my peers who are my size.”
The actress also said that it was extremely easy to lose weight on the program, but it took time. “You lse the weight slowly. It’s a healthy way to do it,” she said. Goodwin also admitted that she has struggled with her weight since starting her Hollywood career, and it saddens her to see her peers struggle with their weight issues. She credits her mother’s support and her continued commitment to Weight Watchers as the reason she’s at a healthy weight now.
