Sarah Michelle Gellar has signed on to appear in one of her first major roles since having her daughter, Charlotte Prinze, in September 2009, Vulture is reporting. CBS has greenlit a new pilot starring the former ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ actress called ‘Ringer.’

The new series is an hour-long thriller, and will star Gellar in two roles. She first plays a woman who is on the run from the mob. In order to escape from her enemies, she assumes the life of her wealthy twin sister. But she soon finds out that her sister has a bounty on her head as well.

Gellar will also co-executive produce the series, which is being produced by ABC Television Studios and CBS Television Studios. The show is being scripted by ‘Supernatural’ writers Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder.
