Rock guitarist Gary Moore, who rose to fame as a member of the influential Irish band Thin Lizzy, has been found dead, The Huffington Post is reporting. His manager, Adam Parsons, confirmed to the BBC that the musician’s body was discovered on February 5 at his Spanish hotel on the Costa del Sol, where he was vacationing. The cause of Moore’s death is not immediately known.

Moore’s former Thin Lizzy bandmate, drummer Brian Bowney, said his death is a total shock. The group’s guitarist, Scott Gorham, said Moore was “a great player and a great guy.” The group had hits in the 1970s with such songs as ‘The Boys are Back in Town’ and ‘Whiskey in the Jar.’ Before joining Thin Lizzy, Moore was a member of the Dublin band Skid Row. No official funeral details have been announced yet for Moore, who found fame as a solo artist later in life.
