It would seem that there might be an “Inception” reunion of sorts, because news broke over the weekend that Marion Cotillard might be in the upcoming film “The Dark Knight Rises”, a film which has also been linked to Joseph Gordon Levitt (rumored to play the son of a mob boss), Tom Hardy (scheduled to play Bane) and Michael Caine (scheduled to reprise his role of Alfred, Batman’s faithful butler and father figure). Now, according to ScreenRant, that rumor is now a fact, as it has confirmed that the actress is officially “in discussions” to be in the film.

As to what her role will be, that’s still up in the air (well, at least as far as entertainment blogging is concerned), but she will be sharing the movie with Anne Hathaway, who will be playing Catwoman, one of Batman/Bruce Wayne’s (Christian Bale) flames. This is just pure speculation, but what if Batman’s other flame, Ra’s Al Ghul’s daughter, Talia, will show her face in this film? This “Batman” fan can only hope. In any case the news only adds fuel to the fire already being stoked by such rumors of Robin Williams playing Hugo Strange

“The Dark Knight Rises”, also starring Morgan Freeman and Gary Oldman, will be in theaters July 20, 2012.
