Do you think you can play Tupac Shakur? TooFab has released information about a casting call that will happen next week to find an actor to play the famed rapper.

Starting March 21, Skee.TV and Morgan Creek will accept 5 minute audition videos from anyone who thinks they can tackle the role on the website InSearchOfTupac.com. The casting call will last for an entire month.

David Robinson, the film’s producer, has stated that he’s looking for a person who has “the right mix of raw charm and charisma for the role.”

To whomever lands this role, it will be one that could easily jump start an acting career, and, in a historical context, the role will broaden the field of black actors to choose from in Hollywood by introducing the world to new talent.

Shockya reported about the announcement of the film going into production in February. The film, which will chronicle the short, but influential life of Shakur and his involvement in the East Coast/West Coast rap war that ended up killing him and The Notorious B.I.G., will be directed by Antoine Fuqua (“Training Day”, “Tears of the Sun”) and Shakur’s mother, Afeni Shakur, will act as executive producer. The film will be shot on location in Georgia, New York, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas, and is expected to be in theaters in 2013.
