Here’s the first pictures of who might be Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins. The pictures, originally posted at TheOneRing, show a guy in full Hobbit regalia, the hood of his cape covering the majority of his face except for his mouth, which is in a smile.
After seeing tons of pictures of Martin Freeman due to my extra-curricular “Sherlock” research, I give my opinion that the smile the guy’s wearing looks like Freeman’s smile. That’s not saying that it is Freeman, but that guy’s smile sure looks like his.
In any case, it’s a tease for “Lord of the Rings” fans, so get ready to salivate over the pictures!
The film Freeman’s starring in, “The Hobbit: Part 1”, chronicles Bilbo’s (and his team of dwarves) quest to reclaim treasure from the dragon Smaug. Aside from Freeman, the film stars Ian McKellan, Saoirse Ronan, Cate Blanchett, Orlando Bloom, Elijah Wood, Christopher Lee, David Tenant, and Ian Holm. The film is expected to be in theaters December 19, 2012.
