io9 has some new images of Hal Jordan in full Green Lantern regalia. The images, which you can see below, are stills of Ryan Reynolds in the CGI suit and mask.
Upon first viewing, the images are all right. But then I got startled by the bare feet. Now, I’m all for reinterpreting things, but I’m a stickler when it comes to superhero suits. Hal Jordan always had boots on. And clothes. But this “suit” isn’t a suit. It’s a projection from the ring, just like the mask. So…is he naked? I mean, his bare feet are showing!
In any case, the screenshots look miles better than what was witnessed in the first teaser trailer, and, to be honest, the suit looks pretty cool, feet notwithstanding. It looks very space-agey, interesting, and not like any other superhero suit. But it, and the mask, still looks like it came from a computer, which, I guess is an element that just can’t be taken away no matter how hard you try.
Perhaps I’m being too hard on these pictures, so I’ll put it to you. What do you make of these pictures? Do you like the direction being taken with Hal Jordan’s suit, or are you put off by it? Sound off below.
