Thats What I Am

That's What I Am Movie Review

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

Title: That’s What I Am Director: Mike Pavone Starring: Ed Harris, Chase Ellison, Molly Parker, Daniel Roebuck, Randy Orton, Daniel Yelsky, Alexander Walters, Mia Rose Frampton, Amy Madigan The fact that actual personal experience informs a movie’s narrative flavor doesn’t, of course, guarantee its quality in any way, shape or form — a fact reaffirmed by writer-director Mike Pavone’s “That’s What I Am”, an awkward mish-mash of observational coming-of-age cliches and half-baked moralizing that feels like a bloated, not particularly well sketched episode of “The Wonder Years”. Set in California during the 1960s, the film centers on 12-year-old Andy (Chase Ellison), a bright but small eighth-grade kid whose favorite teacher, Mr. Simon…

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga talks more about meaning behind Judas video

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

As reported this week, Lady Gaga is set to debut the music video to her song, “Judas”, on “American Idol” May 2. Even though the video hasn’t even come out yet, the religious nature of the video has already offended Catholic religious groups. We’ve already heard from Gaga’s choreographer, Laurieann Gibson, who said the video is spiritually powerful. Now, The Hollywood Reporter is reporting via MSN Entertainment in Canada that Gaga has explained more about the video. “The theme of the video and the way that I wanted to aesthetically portray the story was as a motorcycle Fellini movie, where the apostles are revolutionaries in a modern-day Jerusalem,” she said….

After the unforgettable jingle fades out, we get a series of absolutely incredible visuals charged by a powerful score. If you were of the camp that felt The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 was lacking in action, Part 2 certainly won’t disappoint. The CGI and…

Funeral 101 With Alcoholic Faith Mission

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

How different cultures throw funerals was never a subject we even grazed over in school for reasons why we are sure students understand. The topic might not be in the curriculum, but it does still interest us. This curiosity doesn’t only reside within us, but also the Danish sextet, Alcoholic Faith Mission. The band recently released their music video for “Legacy,” off their EP, “And the Running with Insanity”. They undeniably ran away with craziness on this video, which was directed by Bryn Chainey. The “Legacy” video centers around a young girl’s fascination with death and eclectic funerals. A human death did not trigger this obsession, but instead the death…
