Nicolas Cage won’t be facing criminal charges in relation to his domestic abuse arrest in New Orleans on April 16, Fox News is reporting. The Academy Award winning actor’s attorney, Harry Rosenberg, said that his client won’t be prosecuted because the Orleans Parish district attorney’s office refused to press charges.
Rosenberg confirmed the dismissal by saying “We are pleased that the process led to the correct result, despite the inaccurate media reports, and that (Nick) has been cleared and all charges have been dropped.” Christopher Bowman, the spokesperson for the district attorney’s office, said the prosecutors felt no criminal conduct was committed.
Cage was arrested in the French Quarter after a witness said he grabbed his wife Alice Kim by the arm during a drunken argument. He was also charged with disturbing the peace and public drunkenness after he fought with the officers who tried to arrest him.
