Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon have already been visited by Child Protective Services after the April 30 birth of their twins, Moroccan and Monroe, US Magazine is reporting. The ‘America’s Got Talent’ host told one of the competition show’s judges, Piers Morgan, on his CNN evening talk show ‘Piers Morgan Tonight’ that “Child Protective Services actually came to see me while I was in the hallway.” Cannon added that there had been “allegations that there was drug and alcohol use during the stay in the hospital.”
Cannon said the visit was a misunderstanding, and started when a nurse suggested to Carey “that if you drink Guinness, the dark beer, the yest improves breastfeeding. I don’t know if someone heard that, but then they were saying my wife was drinking beer.” Cannon also said he felt “people will do anything to try to conjure up a story.”
Cannon also told Morgan that it was ridiculous that he had to deal with the questioning at the hospital, and “to even think about someone possibly wanting to investigate your children.” He added that “it’s really sad when you think about people trying to make a buck off newborn babies.”
