New Muppets Movie Trailer Riffs On The Hangover

Thursday, May 26th, 2011

The new trailer for “The Muppets Movie” gives us plenty more in the way of the actual Muppets than the first teaser trailer did. This trailer takes a cue from “The Hangover” films. The trailer also has fake reviews from fake websites and magazines like “The Hollywood Resnorter” and “Green with Envy Magazine”. In any event, all of these trailers is only making me more hyped up to see the Muppets on the big screen. Of course, I’ve always been a Muppets fan, ever since I saw “The Muppets Movie” as a kid. “The Muppets” is written by Segel and directed by James Bobin. The movie follows the Muppets as…

Megan Fox in Passion Play

Mitch Glazer on Passion Play and Magic City

Thursday, May 26th, 2011

Mitch Glazer spoke with us about his upcoming film “Passion Play”, starring Megan Fox, Bill Murray, Rhys Ifans, and Mickey Rourke, whom Glazer has known since childhood. “It’s the movie I always dreamt it would be,” the writer/director said. The inspiration for “Passion Play”, a film about a musician (Rourke) who falls in love with Lily, a Bird Woman, is threefold. “My mother was a high school English teacher and taught both Mickey [Rourke] and I,” said Glazer. “She showed us a short film called ‘An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge‘,” which featured a character hallucinating during the last moments of his life. The film, Glazer said, was shown by…

Box Office Predictions: The Hangover Part II To Have A Happy Holiday

Thursday, May 26th, 2011

Who’s ready for an extra long weekend? The brand new films in contention at the box office better be because, courtesy of Memorial Day, there’s a whole extra day this weekend to lure in those off from work and school. Then again, even without the holiday this would likely be a big one because we’ve got two potential heavy hitters arriving, and both sequels at that. Just about this time two years ago, The Hangover arrived to fantastic reviews and a relatively strong opening. A $45 million start may not qualify the film as a summer blockbuster, but its incredibly long legs and ultimate climb to over $277 million domestically…

The Abduction of Zack Butterfield Poster

The Abduction Of Zack Butterfield Movie Review

Thursday, May 26th, 2011

Title: The Abduction of Zack Butterfield Directed By: Rick Lancaster Starring: TJ Plunkett, Brett Helsham, Lisa Gunn, Aaron Letrick, Celine du Tertre, Domenico D’Ippolito, Anthony Ames While it’s a personal priority to treat every film the same, sometimes there’s just no use in trashing an indie production seeing a minimal release. However, that’s not the case with The Abduction of Zack Butterfield as I feel I owe it to the industry and moviegoers alike to lay it on thick so that an atrocity such as this will never be dubbed a professional feature film ever again. Zack Butterfield (TJ Plunkett) has everything going for him; he’s popular, good-looking and an…
