Prometheus from Ridley Scott

Possible plot points revealed about Ridley Scott's Prometheus (SPOILERS!)

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

io9 has gotten some tips on the Ridley Scott “Alien” prequel “Prometheus”! If you don’t want to know what the movie might be about (since this is the possible story), DON’T READ THIS! If you’re still here, here’s what the tipster for io9 reported. Supposedly, according to the tipster, someone close to the movie has said that the film will be, as io9 describes it, “an awful cross between ‘Beneath the Planet of the Apes’ and ‘Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.” The film is supposed to start in the year 2058, where an archaeological dig reveals that humans were genetically designed creatures by Space Jockeys, an alien race….

Daily Shock: Jonathan Rhys Meyers Hospitalized After Taking Pills

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

After being found slumped on the floor of his London home, Jonathan Rhys Meyers was rushed to a hospital on June 28, 2011, E!Online is reporting. The ‘Tudors’ star, who has battled alcohol problems in the past, reportedly took several pills. However, it hasn’t been officially called a suicide attempt by doctors, even though his family and friends are questing if he tried to take his own life. Paramedics responded to an emergency call from Meyers’ home, but he refused treatment for over 30 minutes. Police were eventually called in to escort the 33-year-old actor to the hospital. Meyers was released from the hospital the day after his admittance. He…

Thor 2

Thor 2 Coming Down the Pike, but No Director Signed

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

CinemaBlend is reporting that a sequel to Marvel/Disney’s movie “Thor” is underway! The film is set for a 2013 release. For those that were fans of the film, that’s the good part. The bad part is that there is currently no director signed to the project, which means that Kenneth Branagh must not be coming back. Sources say that there might have been an issue with money as to why the director known most for his Shakespeare adaptations won’t return. However, Deadline is reporting that Branagh might be on the sequel in some sort of producing role because, thankfully, this isn’t a case where a director is mad at a…

Skarlet

Skarlet Joins Mortal Kombat Roster

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

For about five bucks, you can add Skarlet to your Mortal Kombat roster. She’s the product of fused warrior blood and a pinch of sorcery. She’s one of Shao Kahn’s minions, and she’s been tasked with keeping an eye on Quan Chi because you can never trust someone that pale… especially one who can also summon the dead. Skarlet has a few close range special attacks but also has a series of projectiles that can be launched. She uses two short swords attached to her back and a set of kunai for those projectiles. Skarlet has several standard techniques that work well with her special attacks. Her Slash special sends…

Transformers: Dark of the Moon

Box Office Predictions: Mo' CGI Mo' Money For Michael Bay

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

Transformers: Dark of the Moon may not have come anywhere near Revenge of the Fallen‘s $62 million Wednesday intake, but $37.7 million is not a bad start in the least. The question is, how will this initial difference affect the rest of Dark of the Moon‘s opening weekend? Revenge of the Fallen began its run with a $109 million weekend and Dark of the Moon should have no problem coming close. The difference? For Dark of the Moon that total will be the result of a four-day weekend rather than a mere three-day one like Revenge of the Fallen. Should Dark of the Moon continue to have a lesser per…

First Look at Anne Hathaway and Christian Bale on the set of The Dark Knight Rises

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

Here’s some video from the set of “The Dark Knight Rises”! In the video, you can see Anne Hathaway and Christian Bale acting as Selina Kyle and Bruce Wayne. It’s raining in the video, so either something serious must have happened in the story, or something romantic (that’s really the only times rain is employed in films). Bruce is shown knocking on a door–no one answers, so Bruce and Selina walk off together. All signs point to a romantic scene. The YouTube video showing Hathaway and Bale is embedded below. Mind you–there’s no sound, just images, so don’t think there’s something wrong with the sound quality. Even still, the video…

Transformers: Dark of the Moon Lights Up On Opening Day

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

Critics may hate it. But that’s not stopping the summer movie-going crowd from shelling out cash to see it. “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” set the benchmark as far as opening day grosses are concerned this year. Collecting $37.3 million on the domestic front, the third installment from director Michael Bay can now tout having the highest opening day total for 2011. The figure is good for the sixth best Wednesday opening ever with the assist from 3D & IMAX screens surely helping out. Yet this installment is a far cry from the previous, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, which hit $62 million domestically, also opening on a Wednesday in…

Watch Nadya Suleman aka Octomom Fight In The Boxing Ring!

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

Fans of Alki David’s film “Guido” are in luck! David, who is also the head of BattleCam.com, presided as commentator over the Octomom’s (aka Nadya Suleman) celebrity fight with radio personality Jen DJ Posner at the Pennant East in Bellmawr, New Jersey. Suleman was originally supposed to fight “Real Housewives of New Jersey”‘s Kim G, who had to cancel her appearance due to a root canal. In any case, the fight was zany, over-the-top, guilty-pleasure fun that you come to expect from celebrity boxing. Even though the fight was streamed live yesterday through RadarOnline, we have some exclusive B-roll footage from the fight below this post. Suleman is, of course,…
