This looks amazing! Back in April, 20th Century FOX released the first trailer to the re-boot/prequel to the sci-fi classic franchise, “The Planet of The Apes”, “The Rise of The Planet of The Apes” (see how it’s different?), to excited fan boys across the Internet. Now the new trailer, oh my, does it get me excited for this movie.

We get a better sense of the movie’s plot and story and overall tone, but more importantly, we get a better sense of the apes. They looks simply amazing! The scary thing about their looks is that they looks so real and lifelike. Good job to the people at Weta, who did the CGI and creature creation design of Caesar.

Official Synopsis:

RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is an origin story in the truest sense of the term. Set in present day San Francisco, the film is a reality-based cautionary tale, a science fiction/science fact blend, where man’s own experiments with genetic engineering lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy.

The title of the movie went the numerous title changes, including, “Caesar”, “The Rise of the Apes” and now, “The Rise of The Planet of The Apes”. Maybe the next one will be “The Rise of The Planet of The Apes: Caesar”? The film will feature James Franco, John Lithgow, Brian Cox, Freida Pinto, Tom Felton and Andy Serkis as Caesar.

“The Rise of The Planet of The Apes” will hit theaters this summer on August 5th 2011.
