Paramount Pictures and Yahoo! Movies to stream the U.S. premiere of Transformers: Dark of the Moon

Paramount Pictures has teamed up with Yahoo!Movies to present online viewers a live stream of the U.S. premiere of “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” in New York City. The livestream of the red carpet event will occur June 28 at 5:30 pm EST at Yahoo!Movies’ “Transfomers” livestream page. Along with watching the live coverage, fans will also be able to interact with each other through social media. After watching the premiere, fans will be able to go to participating theaters and watch the film in 3D at 9 pm local time on June 28. The film will open everywhere at midnight, June 29. Last week, we touched a little bit on “Bad Teacher” in the “FilmFan” recap, but for those who don’t know about the film, “Bad Teacher” follows a, well…bad teacher Elizabeth (Cameron Diaz) who is looking for her Mr. Right after being stood up. She tries to snag a rich dweeb substitute Scott Delacorte (Justin Timberlake), but gym teacher Russell Gettis (Jason Segel) has eyes for her. The film has a mediocre rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and the main consensus from critics is that “Bad Teacher” isn’t as awesome as “Bad Santa”; it goes for the jugular, but it fails to hit. Lady Gaga is being sued for $5 million by 1-800-LAW-FIRM for allegedly keeping a portion of the profits from the sale of her ‘We Pray For Japan’ wristbands, RadarOnline is reporting. Attorney Ari Kresch, who works for the Southfield, Michigan based law firm, told Radar that he’s suing the singer “simply to hold her accountable for giving the money that she was raising for charity to the cause that she was trying to raise it for.” Kresch also said customers were lead to believe that the proceeds gathered from the wristbands would could directly to the victims of the March 2011 earthquake that occurred in Japan. New York's WBAI Radio Station to Launch Segment Supporting the Spotlight Initiative Program and Independent Films

In an effort to increase public and private support for select independent movies, New York City radio station WBAI 99.5 has partnered with The Creative Coalition’s Spotlight Initiative program. Title: Forks Over Knives Director: Lee Fulkerson Cast: Neal Barnard, Caldwell Esselstyn Jr., Matthew Lederman ‘Forks Over Knives’, from director Lee Fulkerson, fashions itself a hip, savvy treatise on vegetarianism, sort of ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ for the animal rights and beware-meat, health-conscious set. Instead, it’s a wearying polemic that tests the patience of even those who might be inclined to agree with it. Fulkerson takes as his two chief crusading subjects biochemist T.
