Liam Hemsworth, star of “The Hunger Games”, “The Last Song”, and brother to “Thor” (Chris Hemsworth) is set to star in the film “AWOL”, according to Deadline. The indie film is a Vietnam-era romance/drama film based on a true story; the film’s setting is the University of Michigan during anti-Vietnam protests. The film will have Hemsworth play one of the lead roles. In negotiations to star alongside Hemsworth are Teresa Palmer, Austin Stowell, Aimee Teegarden, Chris Lowell, and Max Adler. The Coen Brothers may next be directing and writing a biopic focused on one of the Greenwich Valley folk genre’s most famous names, Dave Van Ronk, Collider is reporting. The movie will reportedly be loosely based on Van Ronk’s life as not only an influential musician, but as a left-wing activist as well. The film will also be partially based on the singer’s posthumous memoir The Mayor of MacDougal Street. Scott Wilson and Lauren Cohen have been cast as father and daughter Hershel and Maggie Green in the upcoming second season of ‘The Walking Dead,’ TVGuide is reporting. The two characters are fan favorites from the graphic novels on which the hit AMC show is based. The post-apocalyptic horror series’ main character, Sheriff’s Deputy Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln, and his followers encounter Hershel and Maggie, whose family has been ravaged by zombies.
