Tuesday, June 28th, 2011

According to CinemaBlend, “The Hangover, Part II” star Jamie Chung has managed to land another film role; this time, however, Chung will be doing all of the heavy lifting. She’s been cast as the lead in the indie drama “Eden,” directed by Megan Griffiths. The film will center around a girl who’s been kidnapped by human traffickers and forced into prostitution for two years. The film is based on real events and written by Griffiths and Richard B. Phillips. Scroot McNairy, who has worked with Griffiths before in “The Off Hours,” will also be in this film. Chung, who initially started in MTV’s “The Real World,” will have a lot…

An Angry Birds movie is reportedly in the works. Fans of the wildly popular mobile app, from the gaming company Rovio, can expect to see the miniature little birds fly onto the big screen with the help of former Marvel Studios executive David Meisel, who is now on board to produce the future project.  Here is the official announcement: “Rovio has already had amazing success and established a great brand with Angry Birds,” Maisel said. “The business model, intellectual properties and the franchise potential of Angry Birds give Rovio the most exciting prospects I have seen in the entertainment business since Marvel in 2003.” Currently the heads behind the Angry…

Stephenie Meyer's The Host Movie Gets A Release Date!

Tuesday, June 28th, 2011

Twilight author Stephenie Meyer’s has another novel that will be turned into a movie. Titled The Host, Meyer’s will see her fictitious character Melanie, who’s body is being used as a vessel by an alien named Wanderer, hit the big screen on March 29, 2013. I attempted to read the book (what feels like ages ago) but I couldn’t finish the story. It’s no Twilight, and yes I’m a fan, but maybe I’ll give Melanie Stryder and her story as one of the last humans another attempt. I can only imagine the buzz that will surround Meyer’s next flick, and since it’ll probably get underway shortly after this summer, with…

Charlie Sheen's Character reportedly Going To Die In Two And A Half Men

Tuesday, June 28th, 2011

Hopefully, we’re getting to the end of Sheen-gate now. The Hollywood Reporter has an article outline how Charlie Sheen’s character might be written out of the show. According to their article, Sheen’s character, Charlie Harper, will die in the season premiere this September. Killing the character by having him drive off a cliff is one of the ways “Men” co-creator Chuck Lorre and other producers are thinking about dealing with the character. According to TMZ, by killing the character, this could make a return visit by Charlie Sheen impossible. The other problem, how to introduce Ashton Kutcher into the cast, is also being thought over, but hopefully his entrance won’t…

Terri Movie Review

Tuesday, June 28th, 2011

Title: Terri Directed By: Azazel Jacobs Starring: Jacob Wysocki, John C. Reilly, Bridger Zadina, Olivia Crocicchia, Creed Bratton With so many quirky coming-of-age movies out there, not only is establishing a unique and engaging lead character vital, but the same goes for the general tone of the film, too. While Terri does make use of some of the standard genre conventions, it packs so many innovative broad strokes and tiny details, it rises above the usual shtick, becoming something that makes an impact for all the right reasons. Terri’s (Jacob Wysocki) got it rough; he’s an overweight teen who’s been abandoned by his parents, must take care of his ailing…

Transformers: Dark Of The Moon Movie Review

Tuesday, June 28th, 2011

Title: Transformers: Dark of the Moon Directed By: Michael Bay Starring: Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Josh Duhamel, John Turturro, Tyrese Gibson, Patrick Dempsey, John Malkovich, Ken Jeong, Alan Tudyk, Frances McDormand I love chocolate cake. When I eat too much chocolate cake, I feel sick and don’t love it much anymore. I like visually stimulating imagery in movies. When I see too much visually stimulating imagery, in 3D nonetheless, I feel sick and don’t love it much anymore. Hopefully Michael Bay doesn’t love chocolate cake as much as he loves tracking shots and dizzying robot battles or he’d have a morbidly obese problem on his hands. Transformers: Dark of the…
