In the wake of filing for divorce from her estranged husband Arnold Schwarzenegger on July 1, 2011, Maria Shriver has been offered an advance of more than $15 million to write a tell-all memoir, RadarOnline is reporting. The former broadcast journalist is currently one of the most sought-after writers because of her estranged husband’s admitted affairs and love child. The advance could break the all-time advance record of $15 million that former president Bill Clinton received for his memoir, ‘My Life’.
Shriver has already written six best-selling books, including ‘And One More Thing Before You Go’ and ‘What’s Happening Grandpa?’ But if she decides to write a tell-all book about her life, and chronicle growing up as a Kennedy, being married to Schwarzenegger, his reported extramarital affairs and love child, the memoir is expected to break sales records.
As of now, Shriver hasn’t publicly indicated whether or not she’s interested in writing a book about her life. But book publishers are still offering deals to California’s former first lady.
The news of the book deal comes six weeks after Schwarzenegger publicly admitted that he had a child with his family’s ex housekeeper, Mldred Baena. It also comes as Shriver cited irreconcilable differences as the reason behind their divorce. Should she decide to go forward with the memoir, it’s believed that it won’t be published until 2015, when her youngest child Christopher turns 18.
