Adrienne Palicki, best known for her work on “Friday Night Lights,” has taken the role of Lady Jaye in “G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes,” according to Deadline.

Palicki will join “G.I. Joe” veterans Channing Tatum (Duke) and Lee Byung-hun (Storm Shadow) and newcomers to the cast Dwayne Johnson (Roadblock) and RZA (the Blind Master). Also rumored to join the cast is Bruce Willis, who is a frontrunner for the role of Joe Colton.

Currently, Palicki is known for the “Wonder Woman” pilot she was a part of. In the show, written by David E. Kelley, she played the title character, which was rewritten as a regular woman balancing superhero life and the regular life of a businesswoman. The pilot’s plot and Palicki’s costume were largely panned, and a few months after pictures were released of the revamped suit and on-set action sequences, the pilot was shelved.

“G.I. Joe” is based on the popular action hero line by Hasbro. “G.I. Joe” has spawned a popular cartoon show as well as an ’80s animated film, “G.I. Joe: The Movie.” “G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes” will be released to theaters August 10, 2012.
