After reportedly being wrongfully quoted by L.A. Times writer Patt Morrison’s column, actress and She and Him’s leading lady, Zooey Deschanel, has spoken out. Apparently issues arose when Morrison quoted the performer as saying “I just don’t want them to see the worst of L.A,” while she attended Saturday’s BAFTA gala for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The columnist also stated in her article that Zooey, star of the upcoming TV series The New Girl, resides on the Westside. None of that sat well with Deschanel who has since decided to clear things up, shooting back at the L.A. Times writer on her website hellogiggles.
Responding to Morrison, Deschanel pointed out that the writer never actually attended the event where Deschanel was said to have uttered such insults towards Los Angeles. The sister of Bones actress Emily Descahnel also pointed out that here home isn’t in the Westside.
“you state – go back to your house on the Westside – Well I can’t do that because I do not live on the Westside.” Deschanel also adding “I do hope that in the future when writing about something, especially a human being, you will consider both the acts and context before publishing your opinion.”
I guess she told her! Morrison has since come forward to smooth over the incident without a response from Deschanel issues as of yet. Check out Deschanel’s full response here.
