The U.S. and Canadian rights to the upcoming drama ‘The Last Rites of Joe May’ have been acquired by Tribeca Film. The company will release the movie, which was written and directed by Joe Maggio, on Video On Demand and theatrically in October 2011. The film, which had its world premiere in competition at the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival, follows the title character, a hustler, played by Dennis Farina, who goes after redemption. Krishna Reddy will be making his American directorial debut with the upcoming romantic comedy ‘Divorce Invitation,’ starring Jamie Lynn Sigler, Jonathan Bennett and Nadia Bjorlin. Jig Documentary Sets New Guinness World Record

The dancing documentary ‘Jig’ has set a new Guinness World Record for “Longest Riverdance Line” in Nashville. Six hundred and fifty two dancers performed for five minutes and 40 seconds during the 2011 North American Irish Dancing National Championships, beating the old record of 392 dancers in Ireland in 2010. The video of the attempt can be seen on YouTube. The performance was set up as part of ‘Jig’s theatrical campaign. Clark Gable III, the grandson of the Academy Award-winning actor Clark Cable, was arrested on July 28, 2011 for allegedly pointing a laser at a Los Angeles Police Department helicopter, TMZ is reporting. Gable, an aspiring reality star, was driving around Hollywood with friends when they decided to head to the Hollywood sign, which he tried to point the laser at.
