This one looks strange. The new trailer from legendary filmmaker, Francis Ford Coppola, hit the Internet. The film is called “Twixt” and is a film that follows the life of a struggling writer Hall Baltimore (Val Kilmer) trying to write his next book. He spends his time in a small, sleepy town. But when the police chief (Bruce Dern) offers to help write his next book, Hall Baltimore is not so receptive to his advances. Soon after Hall Baltimore has strange visions of mysterious gothic guides named V (Elle Fanning) and Edgar Allan Poe (Ben Chaplin). Are these visions reality or are they a dream? Voiceover provided by the awesome Tom Waits!

Francis Ford Coppola recently had a panel of this year’s San Diego Comic Con, where he showed footage of “Twixt” and unveiled his ambition of editing the film in real time to a live audience. Along with his trusty iPad, Coppola wowed the Comic Con crowd in Hall H with his editing theatrics.

There’s no real telling if there is any interest from general audiences in “Twixt” but selling the name of Francis Ford Coppola couldn’t hurt.

Synopsis:

Inspired by the gothic horror of Edgar Allen Poe, Coppola’s latest tells the tale of a burnt-out mystery writer (Val Kilmer) who gets mixed up in murder and evil in a California town.

“Twixt” is set to hit theaters in 2011 in 3D.
