DJ Samantha Ronson is facing a maximum sentence of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine after being charged with driving under the influence, Us Magazine is reporting. Lindsay Lohan’s ex-girlfriend was arrested near Baker, California at 10:30 am on August 1, 2011 for driving with a blood alcohol level above .08. The San Bernardino District Attorney’s Office later confirmed Ronson was charged with two misdemeanor counts.
Officers pulled Ronson over for driving her black Porsche 89 MPH in a 70 MPH zone. She was alone at the time of the arrest, but an officer said she was friendly and talkative. She was also reportedly somewhat cooperative throughout the arrest.
However, the British-born DJ was taken to a police substation after she failed a sobriety test and refused to take a Breathalyzer test. Once she was at the police station, she took the Breathalyzer, where it was discovered her blood-alcohol level was above the legal limit.
Ronson, who was returning to Los Angeles after finishing a gig at Lavo nightclub in Las Vegas when she was arrested, is due in court in Barstow on September 23 for her arraignment. Since this is her first offense, it’s likely that she’ll receive probation, in lieu of the prison time.
