After the third installment in the franchise hit theaters back in 2002, New Line is looking to bring the hilarious “Austin Powers” franchise back nine years later. Close to sealing a deal, per The Wrap, the movie giant is in talks with the shagalicious spy, Mike Myers. The movie giant “has long wanted to make the movie, but coming to terms with Myers has been complicated.” So far additional details have yet to be been released, without a plot or director assigned to the fourth installment. According to rumors around the web, Jay Roach, the helmer of the previous three pictures, 1997′s” International Man of Mystery”, 1999′s “The Spy Who Shagged Me”, and “Goldmember “released in 2002, may be making a comeback to take on the upcoming flick.

Since appearing in the last “Austin Powers” movie, the forty-eight year old Myers has been busy working on “Saturday Night Live “as various characters , “Nobody Knows Anything!”, The “Shrek” franchise as the green ogre, as well as several TV specials, ” Inglourious Basterds “in the role of General Ed Fenech”, “”The Love Guru, “and ” The Cat in the Hat. “The star is also on board a new ” Untitled Keith Moon Project” that is due out this coming 2012.
