This week, ShockYa reported that Ed Schultz apologized for making a mistake when airing a section of Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s speech about America’s debt. Wednesday, Jon Stewart of “The Daily Show” decided to take Schultz to task about misconstruing Perry’s words as well as not addressing the slight Schultz gave to Obama by insinuating Perry called Obama a “big black cloud,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“Pretty sure Perry was saying the black cloud is the debt…While Ed Schultz did apologize for not playing the whole clip, he never really addressed his insinuation about what Perry meant with the phrase ‘black cloud over America,'” Stewart said. “But I guess that’s the thing about clouds, some people see a racist dog whistle, some people see George Washington wrestling a leprechaun.”

Tuesday, Schultz apologized for not playing the full clip of Perry’s speech, saying that it was wrong of he and his team to not play the full clip in order to have Perry’s words in context. “Last night we played a clip of Gov. Perry talking about the debt being a ‘big black cloud’ over this country. We did not present the full context of those statements and we should’ve…no doubt about it, it was a mistake and we regret the error,” said Schultz.
