Derek Jeter and Minka Kelly have ended their three-year relationship, PEOPLE is reporting. The split was reportedly amicable, and the two remain friends and care for each other.

JustJared is confirming the break-up of the New York Yankee shortstop, who is known for dating such celebrities as Mariah Carey, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel and Scarlett Johansson, and the star of the upcoming ‘Charlie’s Angels’ reboot. No reason for the break-up was given, but it’s rumored that the two’s hectic working schedules played a part. Kelly is busy filming the show, which is set to premiere on Thursday, September 22 on ABC, while Jeter is still in baseball season.

The private couple, who was once believed to be engaged and rarely discussed their relationship, are living in different cities; while Jeter lives in New York during baseball season, Kelly is filming ‘Charlie’s Angels’ in Miami. The news of the split comes after the 31-year-old Kelly was seen in Yankee Stadium while the 37-year-old Jeter was the second shortstop to reach 3,000th hits on July 9, 2011, against the Tampa Bay Rays. The break-up also comes after Major League Baseball teamed with HBO to air a documentary, ‘Derek Jeter 3K,’ about the player’s road to 3,000 hits, which aired on July 28, 2011.
