To help promote the upcoming horror film ‘Creature,’ a companion 30-minute television special, ‘Anatomy of a Creature,’ will begin airing tonight in major American cities. The special will air up until the movie’s theatrical release date on September 9, and showtimes and channels can be found on the movie’s official website.

‘Anatomy of a Creature’ will feature behind-the-scenes interviews from the cast and crew. It will also give new eyewitness accounts of, and mythology behind, the film’s monster, the Lockjaw.

‘Creature,’ which was directed by Fred M. Andrews, who co-wrote the screenplay with Tracy Morse, is rated R for bloody violence, grisly images, some sexual content, graphic nudity, language and brief drug use. The film follows an ex-Navy seal, played by Mehcad Brooks, his girlfriend, portrayed by Serinda Swan, and their friends as they embark on a road trip to New Orleans. They decide to stop at a roadside convenience store owned by Chopper, played by Sid Haig, who tells them about Lockjaw. The monster is a fabled god-like creature who is half-man, half-alligator.

The group learns that an inbred local man named Grimley, played by Daniel Ernhardt, lost his family to a monstrous white alligator. Grimley is then driven to madness, and some believe he was transformed into Lockjaw. The friends decide to venture into the woods to find the old cabin where the creature was reportedly born. They realize their lives are in danger when they discover that Lockjaw is real.
