We’ve got three new wide releases arriving this week, but all are getting rather modest openings. Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark tops the bunch with 2,760 theaters. While it’d be nice to see it have as strong an opening as The Last Exorcism with a $7,087 per theater average, it’s more likely to come in on par with Insidious at $5,511 per location, which would give it a total of $15 million for the weekend. North Carolinans Alesana has released an EP and three studio albums since their formation in 2004. Now that the past is behind them and the furture is upon them the band has finished writing and recording for their forth studio album “A Place Where the Sun Is Silent” set for release via Epitaph Records on October 18th. A teaser for “We Are The Lamb”, the new video from the veteran all-girl Canadian metal outfit Kittie, can be seen below. Martial arts fans! Indomina Releasing’s “True Legend” will be out in stores on DVD and Blu-ray September 13. Once again, the debate about plus-sized models vs. anorexic models begins anew.
