“How I Met Your Mother” star Neil Patrick Harris received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Thursday. The ceremony was in celebration of the DVD release of “How I Met Your Mother Season 6: The New is Always Better Edition” September 27. Photos from the event are below.
Before his roles on “Mother” and the “Harold and Kumar” films, Harris was most notable for his role the title role of “Doogie Howser, M.D.” The role also gave him a Golden Globe nomination. Harris’s television credits also include “Stark Raving Mad,” “The Man in the Attic,” “Cold Sassy Tree,” “My Antonia,” “The Wedding Dress,” and “The Christmas Blessing,” which became CBS’s top-rated telefilm of 2005.
Also, aside from guest appearances on “Glee,” “Will and Grace,” “Ed,” “Sesame Street” and “Boomtown,” Harris has been a staple of the theater, playing the leading role of Bobby in the New York Philharmonic’s concert production of Stephen Sondheim’s “Company” at Lincoln Center, starring as The Balladeer/Lee Harvey Oswald in the Tony Award-winning musical “Assassins,” and playing the emcee in “Cabaret” at Studio 54. He made his debut on Broadway in the Pulitzer Prize-winning production of “Proof.”
“How I Met Your Mother Season 6: The New Is Always Better Edition” DVD will have 24 episodes and is filled with never-before-seen footage including deleted scenes, featurettes, a gag reel, commentaries, an extended performance of “Stand By Me,” and much more.
