“The Hunger Games” is one of the most anticipated movies coming down the pike, and now there’s a new viral site that registers users in their districts.

The site, thecapitol.pn. is cold and clinical, providing the right atmosphere for you to “register” for your district in Panem. The site uses Twitter and Facebook to register users and assign them their district, and you can “expedite” the registering process also through the aforementioned social media.

If you’re a fan of “The Hunger Games,” this website might be just up your alley. I was placed into District 7, the lumber district, so apparently, I’m good with chopping.

The official synopsis of “The Hunger Games” is:

“Set in a post-apocalyptic world in the country of Panem where North America once existed, “The Hunger Games” follows the quest of “Tributes”-one teenage boy and girl chosen from each of the country’s twelves districts–as they compete in the Hunger Games. Part twisted entertainment, part government intimidation tactic, the Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains.

Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for the Hunger Games their entire lives, the main character, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she’s ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.”

The film will be released to theaters March 23, 2012.
