Marvel Studios announced Friday that the trailer for “The Avengers”, one of the most anticipated films coming out next year, was downloaded over 10 million times in its first 24 hours on iTunes Movie Trailers. This is a new record for the most-viewed trailer in the site’s history .

The trailer debuted October 11 exclusively on iTunes Movie Trailers and showed fans snippets of Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), The Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Nick Fury (Samuel Jackson) working together to save the world from the villain, Thor’s Frost Giant brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston):
