Bummed there’s no basketball this season? (Thus far, at least.) Why not bring a new sport into your life? Quidditch! No, seriously. The sport made famous by the Harry Potter series is as real as ever and it’s incredibly physical, too. Think a combination of dodgeball, rugby and tag plus some brooms, hoops, four balls and, of course, a golden snitch.

So, what do you say? Want to check it out? Well, if you’ll be in New York on the weekend of November 12th you’re in luck because the World Quidditch Cup is coming to Randall’s Island. The two-day event will feature 100 teams from 27 different states and four nation competing in over 450 games of Quidditch. On top of that there will be live commentary on every field from professional improv comedians, tons of wizard gear for sale, live rock band performances and much more.

Courtesy of Brown Paper Tickets, you’ve got the opportunity to order a one day kids’ pass for $4.99, a weekend kids’ pass for $7.99, a Saturday pass for $11.99, a Sunday pass for $9.99, a championship ticket for $14.99, a weekend pass for $19.99 or, the ultimate, a VIP pass for $99.99. Oh, wait; you want the tickets for free, right? Well, you’re in luck because the event’s Commissioner was kind enough to give Shockya.com two sets of tickets to give away. Each set comes with two weekend passes as well as two finals passes, so not only can you catch every game leading up to the big night, but then you can check out the grand finale, too!

How do you get your hands on the prize? It’s easy! Simply retweet the following by Monday, November 7th …

“@Shockya, send me to the @QuiddWorldCup! http://bit.ly/vIAjfX”

… and then on Tuesday, November 8th, we’ll select two winners at random. Much easier than catching that golden snitch, right?

Good luck!
