Nick Cannon has done a lot in the entertainment business, from entertaining kids on Nickelodeon to hosting MTV’s “Wild ‘n Out,” to starring in films and now hosting NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.” Now, Cannon has gone back to his comedic roots by releasing his comedy DVD “Nick Cannon: Mr. Showbiz” The DVD is another milestone for Cannon; it’s his first comedy special. Martin Scorsese’s “Hugo” has already been called possibly the best 3D movie ever, so the hype is high for this film, which comes to theaters November 23, 2011. The film, which stars Asa Butterfield, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Lee, is based on the Brian Selznick novel “The Invention of Hugo Cabret”, adapted to film by John Logan. The film follows Hugo (Butterfield), an orphan boy who is also a thief, and clock keeper living inside a Paris train station. Firefighters are people who are close to Denis Leary’s heart–his cousin and childhood friend were firefighters, and tragically, his cousin, friend and four other firefighters were killed in a 1999 Worchester, Mass. fire. Leary, who also played a firefighter in “Rescue Me,” along with Jim Serpico, his partner at his production company Apostle, will executive produce the feature film “BURN,” a documentary about Detroit firefighters directed by Tom Putnman and Brenna Sanchez. The film is looking to show at the 2012 winter festival circuit and there are plans for a theatrical release.
