By now, you’ve probably read about the surprise divorce Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries are currently undergoing. E! was completely sidelined by the news, as are a lot of people who probably thought their marriage was going to last, at least for more than 72 days. It would seem that comedy writer Rob Delaney was angered by the shock as well, and has written on Vice.com as to why he is going to sue Kardashian for divorcing the basketball player.
In his article, “I Am Suing Kim Kardashian,” he writes that aside from Kardashian, he’s also including Ryan Seacrest (executive producer of the Kardashian shows), E! Entertainment Television and Comcast. He goes over several points as to how he feels misled by the marriage, which includes how he feels the marriage was pitched for the show.
Apparently, he’s not kidding about the lawsuit. “I guess I’m just nervous because I’ve never sued anyone before, and this is not a joke,” he wrote. ‘I AM suing Kim Kardashian and the others mentioned above. It is alleged that Kim Kardashian was paid $18 million to participate in her own wedding. I feel like schools could use that money. Or health clinics in areas hit hardest by the recession…Also, quitting your marriage now is a rather public admission that you are very, very bad at the job you were hired to do.”
He also wrote that what really made him mad about the entire marriage is how short it was. “I don’t mind that Kim Kardashian got married…But I could forgive that if Kim gave her marriage a real go. I’ve been married for five years. To the same woman. I’ve wanted to divorce her at times. She’s wanted to divorce me at times. But one great thing about marriage, when it’s entered by regular folks, in good faith, is that it’s hard to exit.”
