Adele had been going through a bit of a rough spot after having bleeding in her vocal chords. According to Entertainment Weekly and Los Angeles Times, a spokesman at the Massachusetts General Hospital said that the 23-year-old singer has had a successful laser microsurgery on her vocals in order to stop the hemorrhaging, which was occurring due to a benign polyp.
“This condition is typically the result of unstable blood vessel in the vocal cord that can rupture,” said the spokesman, according to the Los Angeles Times. The spokesman went on to say that due to the advice of her doctor and voice therapist in the U.K. Adele came to Boston to have a consultation and surgery with Dr. Zeitels, the Director of the Massachusetts General Hospital Voice Center. “…Dr. Zeitels expects Adele to make a full recovery from her laser microsurgery.” The procedure involved specialized lasers, according to the statement.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Adele was forced to cancel the remainder of her recent tour and appearances this year concerning her latest album, “21,” due to the medical condition.
It’s great to hear that Adele won’t have such a scary hemorrhaging problem anymore; she’s a fantastic singer and as a fan, I’m always awaiting more of her music. Get well soon, Adele!
