“Hell on Wheels” is a gritty take on the Western genre that follows the story of Cullen Bohannan (Anson Mount), a former confederate soldier who is on the rampage for vengeance. His search has led him to the construction of the first transcontinental railroad by Union Pacific. One of the great things about the show is how non-patronizing it is to the audience. However, because it is realistic version of the Western, those who are squeamish might want to prepare themselves.
