If you ask most people what their favorite Christmas movies are, “A Christmas Story” will probably be somewhere high on the list. The beloved Christmas classic is already popular in its film form, but stage musical fans might make it even more popular now that the film has been adapted into a musical.

According to The Huffington Post, the musical stage version of “A Christmas Story” is currently going on the road with a five-city tour until November 27. The purpose of the tour is to gain traction for the show as well as a following.

Lyricist Benj Pasek told the Post that so far, everything’s good. “We’re hoping it’s not too bumpy of a ride on the road, but it’s a good birthing process and it’s going OK so far,” he said.

The show includes over a dozen songs written by Pasek and composer Justin Paul, including songs about the now-cult-status BB gun.

The five cities included in the tour are Detroit, MI until Nov. 27, Raleigh, N.C. from Nov. 29-Dec. 4, Tampa Fla from Dec. 6-11 and Chicago, IL from Dec. 14-30. Make sure to go to The Huffington Post to learn more about the show.
