“300” is a divisive film, I feel. Some hated it, while others loved it for what it tried to do. Well, if you liked it, you might be glad to know that the film is getting a sequel, and that Eva Green is in talks to star in it.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress is working on starring in “300: Battle of Artemisia” as Artemisia. A director is already attached–Noam Murro (“Smart People”).

In the film, Green’s character will be a cold-hearted goddess laden with gold who talks Xerxes into creating his army and helps Xerxes’ army in battle. Green has already finished “Dark Shadows,” so if this movie is completed next year along with “Dark Shadows,” 2012 might be her banner year.

I saw most of “300” and liked what I saw, at least from a stylistic standpoint. The story was all right–I think as far as an entertaining movie goes, it did just that, so I don’t really have any ill feelings about another “300.” In fact, I don’t really have any feelings either way about it.

However, if you have feelings about it–good or bad–please feel free to drop us a comment (or several) below the post. Do you think Green is a good choice for the role? Do you think a sequel is even necessary?
