Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe will host Saturday Night Live this coming New Year. Recently seen in Broadway’s How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying, a role he will wrap up soon, the English actor is now moving on to headline the comedy show this coming January 14th 2012. Radcliffe will be joined by musical guest star Lana Del Ray.
The twenty-two year old, who is slated to show up next in his big post Potter feature, The Woman in Black, should easily woo the crowd. It’s not often fans have had the chance to see his more comical side, since his roles have mainly been on the more serious side. And since Radcliffe is one of the more well behaved stars in Hollywood, SNL heads will have to get clever for this one. Although Daniel’s recent confession that acting doesn’t come naturally for him, his new girlfriend, and of course his run as the famous boy wizard, could make for some laughs.
“It’s only recently that I have become more aware of the problems people had with me in the films. And, you know, people are obviously entitled to their opinions. The way I come at everything is a place of subtlety and underplaying. In fact, if I’m guilty of certain things particularly – and I am in the sixth Potter movie, definitely! – it’s of underplaying almost the entire film.” Radcliffe recently revealed.
