Joe Bodolai, a former staff writer at ‘Saturday Night Live’ who co-wrote the first draft of the ‘Wayne’s World’ movie, died from an apparent suicide, TMZ is reporting. The writer’s body was discovered by a cleaning crew on December 26 at an L.A. hotel.

Police have said Bodolai had been a guest at the hotel for over a week. They believe he died from suicide, as they recovered a bottle of antifreeze and Gatorade in the hotel room. They believe he died due to consumption of the toxic chemical.

The 63-year-old writer posted on December 23 what is believed to be a suicide note on his blog. In the post, titled “If This Was Your Last Day Alive What Would You Do?,” Bodolai wrote about things he would have liked to see in his life, including the Browns winning the Super Bowl and the “truth” about the JFK murder. He then listed “Things I Regret,” which begins with “My inability to conquer my alcoholism,” and “The things I did because of it.”

Bodolai then went on to list “Things I Am Proud Of,” which included his family members, his time working on ‘Saturday Night Live’ and when he helped Mike Myers write ‘Wayne’s World.’ The note concludes with “May you all have the happy lives you deserve. Thank you all for being in my life.”
