U.S. and Pakistan Both Blamed for Deadly Airstrike

American and Pakistani forces both made mistakes that led to airstrikes against Pakistani posts on the Afghanistan border in November 2011, the New York Times is reporting. Twenty-six Pakistani Army soldiers were killed in the airstrikes, a Pentagon investigation has revealed. This is the first time America assumed some responsibility for the airstrikes, which further damaged the country’s relationship with Pakistan. The investigation, which hasn’t yet been made public, concluded America’s airstrikes were an act of self-defense that was justified. Pakistani soldiers opened fire on Afghan and American special operations forces along the border first. ‘Terra Nova’s producers are moving to secure the lead actors and more writers as they’re waiting to hear back from Fox on its decision to renew the show for a second season, Deadline is reporting. The options on the sci-fi drama expire on December 31, and the pickups for lead actors Jason O’Mara and Stephen Lang are pending. Fox was originally expected to make a decision on picking up ‘Terra Nova’ for a second season earlier in December, with the cast options expiration date forthcoming. Adam Lambert spent several hours in a Finnish jail after being arrested for fighting with his boyfriend Sauli Koskinen outside a Helsinki gay bar, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
