Elton John’s husband David Furnish lashed out at Madonna after she won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song for ‘Masterpiece,’ featured in her directorial film debut ‘W.E.,’ TMZ is reporting. Moments after it was announced the singer won the award, Furnish wrote on his Facebook page “Madonna. Best Song???? F**k Off!!!”

John was also nominated in the same category, for his collaboration with Lady Gaga on the ‘Gnomeo and Juliet’ song ‘Hello, Hello.’ After John appeared angry when Madonna’s name was read, Furnish continued writing, saying “Madonna winning best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in its narcissism. And her criticism of Gaga shows how desperate she really is.” Furnish’s writing also comes after John told a reporter on the red carpet that Madonna had no chance of emerging victorious.
