Andy Roy, the alleged attacker who tried to choke DMX on stage at the Cafe Sevilla in Long Beach, said he never tried to hurt the rapper, TMZ is reporting. The underground skate legend is insisting he was just trying to give DMX a hug, and wasn’t intending on attacking him.
“I just wanted to give him a Top Ramen hug,” Roy said, adding that he lived off the noodles in jail. He also said he wanted to give DMX a hug in solidarity, since he was recently released from jail. The skater also said that the incident, which was caught on tape, was a misunderstanding. DMX seemed unfazed by the alleged attack; after the DJ briefly stopped playing music during the incident, the rapper yelled “We don’t stop the music for s**t!”
