Johnny Depp has allegedly ended his 14-year relationship with Vanessa Paradis, RadarOnline is reporting. The reports come after Depp, who was just named as America’s Favorite Actor for the second year in a row, attended the Golden Globes on January 15 by himself. He went to the awards ceremony to present the clip for ‘Hugo,’ which was nominated for Best Picture-Drama, and which he produced.
RadarOnline also reported that Depp isn’t handling the end of the relationship well, and those around him are worried for his well-being. The ‘Dark Shadows’ actor and the French actress and singer began dating while he was filming the 1999 horror thriller ‘The Ninth Gate,’ and she helped him end his partying habits.
The ending of the relationship comes after the French magazine Voici reported in April 2011 that Depp was reportedly kissing his publicist, Robin Daum. The rumors eventually disappeared, but reports of the actor ending his relationship with Paradis resurfaced when she gave an interview before Christmas. She spoke about a possible film she may appear in with Depp. The movie is about feminist Simone de Beauvoir’s troubled affair with writer Nelson Algren, who would be played by Depp. Paradis said if the film was to be released, it would have a particular resonance.
Depp has also reportedly contacted lawyers to discuss how to end the relationship. While the two never married, they have two children together, 12-year-old daughter Lily-Rose Melody and nine-year-old son John Christopher. Depp was seeking legal advice over how to split custody with Paradis.
