Bridesmaids 2 Kristen Wiig

For a few weeks, there has been many different stories coming about about whether or not there will be a “Bridesmaids” sequel. The studio surely wants another sequel to make money, and Judd Apatow has given his two cents on it (which basically sounded like him saying “no” due to the fear of just making a film just for the money to be had) but not much has been coming out on what Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo, the writers of the film, think about a sequel.

According to CinemaBlend, Wiig, who also starred in the film, gave E! her opinion on making another movie, and it was rather point blank.

“We’re not planning on doing one,” she said. “We had a special time making the first one, but we’re really excited to try something else.”

I think it’s possibly for the best that there won’t be another “Bridesmaids.” This is a beloved movie and sometimes, beloved movies don’t need to be watered down by a sequel. For instance, if “Shrek” had stayed at one film and not a franchise, the idea wouldn’t have gotten so watered down. The fact that Wiig is intent on staying at one “Bridesmaids” film means she wants to keep integrity in her work. I like it.
